Stories of invertebrates in African forests

Colourful, fascinating and exotic, but not always loved by all people: African invertebrates await you in the museum’s Tropical Mountain Forest.
The undergrowth of the African rainforests is home to a small world full of life among beetles, snails, bugs, crustaceans, molluscs and millipedes.

Walking through the forest vegetation, you can discover their strategies of attack and defence, camouflage and disguise, and the complex relationships between predators and preys.

Ten terraria recreate forest micro-habitats in which the species are housed in nature-like conditions, in full respect of their ecological needs. The five entomological showcases, on the other hand, will allow you to admire the preserved specimens at close quarters.

Immerse yourself in the microcosm of African invertebrates, where every detail tells a story of adaptation and survival in an environment as thriving as it is rich in dangers.
